What is Amazonite?
Amazonite is a trade name used for a green to bluish green to greenish blue gem material that is made into cabochons, beads, and tumbled stones. It is a color variety of microcline, a potassium-rich member of the feldspar mineral group. Amazonite has a chemical composition of KAlSi3O8 and its green color is thought to be caused by trace amounts of lead. However, you can get other colours of Amazonite as well – Blue, Green, Purple, Gray, Multicolored according to minerals.net
What is Jasper?
Jasper is an opaque variety of Chalcedony, and is usually associated with brown, yellow, or reddish colors, but may be used to describe other opaque colors of Chalcedony such as dark or mottled green, orange, and black. Jasper is almost always multicolored, with unique color patterns and habits.
What I love about this colour scheme is that it is so versatile. Amazonite colour range from light green to a darker green and it is difficult to really say it is a jade green or a mint green. The same with the Jasper. There is such a range of browns and other colours in the Jasper stone that you can play around with what you like.
For the purpose of this mood board we are choosing a medium and light brown with a greenish mint/turquoise colour. Transport the timeless romance and vastness of the desert into your wedding look and feel through the Jasper colours and tie it with the lush green/turquoise colour of your choice and you have a gorgeously organic inspiration board. Lush, fresh, vastness, warm, touch of cool are words that comes to mind when I look at these mood boards. It is so richly textured and if you look at it you can almost wish you can have your wedding in an exotic place like Kgalagadi, Namibia, Morocco or the Joshua Tree National Park in Colorado.
Let’s look at some of the greens and browns that can be used.
Let’s see how you can make the colour schemes work.
Brides.com says this about colour wedding dresses – “We think all brides should feel free to wear whatever they want on their wedding day. Dying to wear a jumpsuit? Go for it! Considering a short dress? Go for it! Contemplating wearing a colourful wedding dress? You know what our answer to that is! While white will forever be classic and beautiful, there’s something undeniable about the appeal of an unexpected hue in a sea of ivory, cream, and eggshell. And while blush is fast becoming the new take on the white gown, there are many other colours out there to choose from.
For brides who only want a hint of colour, consider shades of soft grey and lilac, for those who want to make a statement, experiment with bold punchy colours like emerald green, red and even bright pink.” For this wedding colours we would suggest you go for a soft brown/wheat colour or go for a very soft mint or turquois colour wedding dress.
Unique and bold bridal accessories that will make a real statement at your wedding!
Bridal accessories are getting bolder – and we love it! This trend has been popping up more frequently as of late and is causing all kinds of commotion as brides are straying away from traditional jewelry and replacing them with statement pieces. A bold, but admirable move!
